You Got This!
It has been few weeks that I published my first article as a blogger. And I think it's time to publish the next one <3
Have you ever felt lost when you are with your friends or when you are with your family members or even when you are with your lover? I guess it is a common feeling that most of us have experienced at some point of our lives. For those, who have not experienced such mixed feelings, good for you! And I really hope it will remain that way. To be honest none of us deserve to feel miserable or lonely when we are supposed to have fun and enjoy every bits of life while we could!
For sometime now, I've been feeling pretty low from time to time yet during the day time, of course when I have to socialize, I really don't want to express my sadness and grab the attention of others. Some of you might also feel the same way while the rest wants to get it off the chest and tell their loved ones how low they feel. And it's perfectly fine to do so. It is nice to know that our loved ones actually care about us and we can share anything and everything with them. In my case I do have people who genuinely care about me and occasionally I tell them what bothers me. They might not have the answers to all my questions but their effort to make me feel better in ways possible reminds me of how blessed I am with such genuine souls.
But there are times you miserably fail to express yourself to someone, to communicate like a normal human being and be a strange introvert. People might wonder what is wrong with you, they might even ignore you. Most common thing you'd ever hear is "Why are you overthinking?, There is nothing wrong with anything, You just make things up so you could be sad." It is pretty upsetting when people just throw such rude words at you when you are fragile like thin glass. They have no idea that such words would break you into million little pieces. You silently wish that they could understand you, what you are going through. But they never get it. They never comprehend what it is like to be lost without words. You can't find right words to express what you really feel. You can't give a voice to your inner self.
Yes, it is sad when your loved ones do not understand you, what you feel and how you feel. There is a point in life that you are still feeling sad, down and wish someone would be there for you. But you realize there is no one. There is no one to talk to, no one that would understand you and no one to rub your back and say it's gonna be alright. Even if there is someone that you could always go to when you are feeling blue, you realize it does not worth your effort. You realize staying calm and low key is the best thing to do at the moment. It's just you and the world. One against an entire world.
You begin to think; "this is my fight, my burden, I must deal with this on my own!" In my experience being brave enough to face your problems, your worries, your emotional break down will make you even more brave and strong in time to come. First, let me break this to you; as courageous as you could be to not share your worries with others, it is hard. Sometimes it may even break you more than your other worries would. Thinking that you are alone and no one is there beside you every time you fall apart could be pretty terrifying and depressing at the same time. But if you are aware of your mental status and not suffering from mental illnesses like depression or anxiety, I'd say give it a try! You never know how awesome the outcome would be unless you try all the ways to overcome your emotional instability.
I decided to try it and its only been few days yet I feel okay. I am happy that I don't let others find myself weak and pitiful. And believe me it will surely enhance your self esteem. You are okay on your own, you can manage your own emotions without any help from people around you. The need to elevate your spirit knowing that there is no one else is there to do that for you make you stronger emotionally. It is a great feeling. Be on your own and see where it'll take you. If you do it right I am pretty sure you could become an expert of managing your emotions at any occasion.
We often consider keeping things to ourselves as something unhealthy. But have you ever thought it could also do good sometimes? Well, it would. When we have no one to share our life occurrences, moments, feelings etc as human beings we always try to let those things out in one way or another. So we engage in coping strategies such as repression ( a milder form of denial; You manage uncomfortable feelings and thoughts by avoiding thinking about them), reaction formation (you react to uncomfortable, unacceptable feelings or ideas that you have (but aren't quite conscious of really), by forming the opposite opinion), displacement (an unacceptable feeling or thought about a person, place or thing is redirected towards a safer target). In my opinion I have unconsciously chosen displacement where I express all my negative vibes into one safer target and that is writing! And also engaging in a lot of work that you enjoy would also eventually help you to ease your pain.
We could find the best way to cope with our negative feelings yet not making sharing such information with people around us an option! We could try different ways and understand the best way to cope with emotional breakdowns without giving others the impression that we are weak. Hell no! Feeling sad even at the tiniest inconvenience is not your fault, its not your weakness! Don't let others assume so. You got this. You could fight it by yourself. All you got to do is decide to face them, accept them and DETERMINE to over come it on your own!
